Before we start any deep work together, it is relevant that you know more about who I am: my training, background, experience, and vision. Take a moment to consider if what I can offer corresponds to what you are looking for in this moment of your life.
I arrived at psychology after a 20-years career as a voice and movement teacher and teacher educator.
I arrived at psychology after a 20-years career as a voice and movement teacher and teacher educator.
I have a first Masters’ Degree in Latin and Greek Literature, but I have always been working as a singer and musician. I am an expert known in Italy and abroad on a specific approach to music education called Orff-Schulwerk. I am an expert known in Italy and abroad on a specific approach to music education called Orff-Schulwerk.
This approach emphasizes an experiential pathway to developing musical skills over technical proficiency and uses creativity, voice and movement.
Through this experience, my interests progressively shifted from music-making and teaching to understanding and supporting the emotional and social background of the person “behind” the music.
This passion became the bridge to obtaining a second Masters’ Degree in Clinical Psychology and completing a 4-year training in Hakomi Mindful Somatic Psychotherapy in Mallorca, Spain.
I specialized in an American school of Mindfulness-based Psycho-Body Therapy, called Hakomi MSP.
Today I am a licensed Psychologist in Italy and the first Italian Certified Hakomi Therapist.
In 2017 and 2018 I worked as a Body-oriented Counselor at the M.E.T.A. Counseling Clinic in Portland, Oregon, US.
There I had the chance to extensively apply the Hakomi Method – which is my field of expertise – and to work as a Teaching Assistant at the Hakomi Pro-Skills Training for Professionals, organized by the Hakomi Institute of Oregon. I also widened my clinical tools by taking further training on Primary Attachment Therapy, Recreation of the Self, Trauma Resolution, and Hakomi Couple Counseling.
I integrate all these inputs into my identity as a Hakomi therapist with the goal to appropriately respond to the different needs of the persons reaching out for my help and to tailor my therapeutic interventions to them.
In 2019 I took a one-year training in Sex Therapy. The training was run by AISC – Associazione Italiana di Sessuologia Clinica. Through attending this training, I gained the competence to include sexuality in my areas of intervention.
I have my office in Rome, Italy.
I also provide online services for people who live in different parts of the world.
I cooperate with the Beck Institute as a mindfulness teacher. I am a Teaching Assistant in the 4-year Hakomi Professional Training, which Hakomi Mallorca started in November 2018 in Mallorca, Balearic Islands, Spain. Since April 2022, I am a Certified Hakomi Teacher.
I’m also currently attending a four-year program in Italy to become a psychotherapist in CBT and in a vast array of mindfulness-based therapeutic modalities: DBT, ACT, Compassion-Focused Therapy, etc. I am co-author of the Italian book Meditare con la vita – Meditating with life (Erickson, released in January 2022).
I translated and was the curator of the Italian edition of the book Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction – Protocol, Practice and Teaching Skills of Susan Woods and Patricia Rockman (Franco Angeli, released in March 2022).
Occasionally, I still facilitate music and movement classes for children and teenagers, highlighting the emotional and social educational aspects embedded in the music-making process.
I also train teachers and educators on the same topic, providing an experiential framework to my teaching activity. Besides my formal studies and personal therapy, for the last 14 years, I have been cultivating my personal growth through constant practice of Meditation, Tai Chi Chuan, Yoga, and Tantra.
My Vision
You already have everything you need to grow, fully express yourself, or heal your old wounds
Each person has everything they need to fully and freely express themselves in life. But very often, past experiences and pressures from our family of origin, society or culture weigh on us, limiting our perception of freedom and capacity for action in our personal and relational world. Consequently, we are often trapped into trances, which “live” us without being aware.
We will work together to rediscover the sparkle that wants to shine in you
You and I will work together to rediscover the sparkle that wants to shine in you. We will free that glimmer from beliefs and behaviors that blur its light.
We will discover your way of feeling expressed in life
We will discover your way of feeling positively oriented and expressed. You will develop the necessary skills to navigate your life with its shadows and lights, joys, and sufferings.
You are unique. Therefore I won’t work with you according to any given agenda
Every human being is unique. I won’t apply any pre-established protocols of interventions. I won’t follow any agenda. We will make a journey together whose final destination will become clearer along the process, leading us to know and understand you better.
I am in service of your process
I consider you as the best expert about yourself and your experience. In my perspective, my work as a psychologist consists in supporting you with an attitude of deep respect, kindness, and understanding in unearthing your true self and gaining the freedom to live according to it.
